Tom Bean ISD teachers and administrators are committed to providing all students the skills to achieve success.

Students are assessed on the TEKS and Student Expectations at checkpoints in grades 3-11 by taking tests referred to as the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). Students in the third grade must pass the reading TAKS test to be promoted to the fourth grade. Students in the fifth grade must pass the Math TAKS to be promoted to the sixth grade. Beginning in Spring '08, students muss pass the 8th Reading and Math TAKS to be promoted to the ninth grade. Students must pass four examinations at the 11th grade level: English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science, to receive a diploma in Texas.

TBISD believes parents are an important resource in the education of each student. Therefore, we offer K12 Planet, which enables parents the ability to view their child's grades and attendance in each class from the web 24/7. Usernames and passwords are required. Contact your child's campus for more information.

Our teachers use a web-based curriculum organizer which helps map and organize the curriculum by uploading lessons and instructional strategies. Eduphoria, the web-based program also makes scheduling district staff development simple and serves as a storage for staff development certificates.
